Northwest Collective Pinot Noir Sunshine Mountain Vineyard is sourced from a family owned and operated vineyard, where Sunshine Mountain overlooks Oregon's Columbia Valley. This up-and-coming wine region is exposed to 300 days of sunshine annually and benefits from the rich flood sediment material from the flood that created the valley. We’re excited to add this elegant Pinot Noir, which balances out the Burgundian style found in some Oregon wines with the grape development that’s achieved with more sunshine, as the name of the vineyard implies. In the glass, it presents bright red fruits that are characteristic of classic Pinot Noir, like raspberry and slightly tart cherry, along with a touch of earthiness. Vibrant, with a lively palate that carries through on silky tannins, we’re really impressed with the structure and acidity. This is the kind of wine that pairs really well with a variety of dishes, but also can be so pleasant to enjoy on its own. For that to be true, balance is key. This is only achieved if the winemaker is honing the lower tannins of the grapes into the right harmony with the natural acidity, resulting in a silky mouthfeel that has just enough of a bright finish. This versatile Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with a range of dishes, but will shine the most with poultry, salmon, and roasted or sautéed mushrooms. Also, this will be excellent with duck or any game meat with savory stock-based sauces.

Whether customers are indulging in any of these pairings, or simply wanting to enjoy a glass, this new single vineyard wine is an excellent suggestion for Oregon wine lovers looking for a new favorite or an alternative to higher priced brands in the $20 – 30 range. Cheers to an amazing value in a label that will only be seen on our shelves!
