Trader Joe’s Rustic Apple Tarte feels homey, simple… and a bit rough around the edges. These are attributes handed down by hand, literally, as people (not machines) fold in the pastry edges, leaving an imprint of palpable charm. Perhaps not surprisingly, this Tarte is also quite tasty, bursting with plenty of apple-y goodness that tracks with its unassuming appearance. 

The buttery, open-faced crust is filled with sweet and tart apples, masterfully blended with cream cheese, cinnamon, sugar, and topped with slivered almonds. It’s baked to a caramel-brown hue prior to freezing, and when you slide it onto a baking sheet and into your warmed oven. The aromas of the freshly baked Tarte will impress—and inspire cravings!
