What’s a burger without a bun? A house without a floor or roof, that’s what—and we may be grocers, not architects, but we’re pretty sure that houses generally need floors and roofs. That’s why we offer a bevy of bun varieties on our bakery shelves, including Trader Joe’s Potato Buns. Available May through September on our bakery racks, these soft and savory Buns will provide all the structural support your burgers need for all your summer grilling or pan-fried patty needs—and they’ll taste great while doing so, too.
Trader Joe’s Potato Buns are made from a traditional Pennsylvania Dutch-inspired recipe that swaps a bit of wheat flour for potato flour for extra body and a soft, moist texture. It’s a style that’s popular among the more elevated burger chains out there (for good reason!), and while we find it’s especially suited for our Chuck, Brisket, & Sirloin Patties, you really can’t go wrong with any patty pairing. Want to build a better burger? Give these Potato Buns a try with our Caramelized Onion & Bell Pepper Turkey Patties and plenty of melted Swiss cheese, a hearty Shrimp Burger or Salmon Burger with a citrus-y slaw, or a Quinoa Cowby Veggie Burger with plenty of spicy BBQ sauce.
