Originally from Milan, Panettone is a festive, sweet, Italian bread, and is an anticipated dessert on our shelves during the holiday season. Inspired by Milanese flavors, we present a fun twist on this iconic cake in a unique (and exclusive to TJ’s, within the U.S., we might add) format: Trader Joe’s Panettone & Chocolate Gelato Style Frozen Dessert!

Our Italian supplier formulated a rich, sweet Panettone-flavored base, with marbled chocolate syrup swirls throughout. Building on the traditional flavor profile, sweet pieces of pandoro bread and candied citrus peel are added, supplied from expert bakers from the Genoa region, to give additional texture and pops of flavor, and evoking the holiday classic with every bite. We recommend pairing this tantalizing Gelato with sweet wines like a Moscato d’Asti or a glass of Prosecco for a decadent after-dinner treat.
