Organic Grass Fed Tenderloin Steak

As proud as we are of our products, we know that there’s always room for improvement. Case in point: we’ve recently upgraded the offerings in our meat case! Our new line of Organic Grass Fed Angus Beef comes to us from a collective of over 2,000 small family farms in the United States—some of whom are so small that they only raise a dozen or so cattle at a time. Each farm dedicates their herds to be raised specifically for consumption, and raises them on an organic, 100% grass and forage diet. The results speak (or rather, eat) for themselves: tender textures, mild, yet decidedly beefy flavor profiles, and great marbling.

Trader Joe’s Organic Grass Fed Anugs Beef Tenderloin Steak is a particularly special cut of beef, coming from a muscle along the cow’s spine that typically doesn’t get worked out very much. As a result, it’s extra tender, making it ideal for serving in contexts where its soft, melt-in-the-mouth texture will come through: we particularly like it pounded flat, seared, and smothered in sautéed mushrooms, or wrapped in puff pastry and broiled for a mini beef Wellington. And if that weren’t enough, we’ve also improved our packaging: each 12-ounce tray now comes vacuum-sealed, rather than gas-flushed, which means better flavor, longer shelf-life, and reduced packaging waste.
