Organic Black Pepper Barilotti Pasta (LIMITED FALL)

We found a pasta supplier in Italy that has mastered the art of flavored pasta! How do we know? Well, they already make Trader Joe’s Organic Lemon Torchiette [sku 74954], and if you’ve tried it, you know the lemon really shines. Now, they’re making our Organic Black Pepper Barilotti Pasta, and we’re excited for customers to get a taste!

Barilotti means “barrel” in Italian, which makes sense when you see these pasta curls that resemble little ribbed casks. Organic Black Pepper, Organic durum wheat semolina, and water are formed into dough and cut with a bronze die. Together, the traditional recipe and bronze die-cut method yield a high-texture, rustic noodle shape. After boiling in water for 10-11 minutes, this thick, al dente Pasta becomes pleasantly chewy, with a spicy, almost citrusy Black Pepper flavor that pairs well with nearly any sauce you can imagine.

Try it with our Alfredo, or Caro Sugo Italian Tomato Basil Sauce. Black Pepper Barilotti is also delicious in a cold pasta salad, tossed with halved Mini Heirloom Tomatoes, Fresh Mozzarella Pearls, Fresh Organic Basil, and some Organic Italian Dressing with Romano Cheese.
