While we’re sure such a recipe was perfectly fit for 17th century palates, we’re rather grateful to live in a time that allows for... let’s say “more agreeable” alternatives to gluten-ful crusts in our pumpkin pie—namely, Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Pumpkin Pie. They’re made for us by an expert bakery partner who uses an ingenious mix of tapioca and corn starches, as well as rice and sorghum flours, to create a Gluten Free crust that’s buttery, crumbly, and delicious, to go along with its sweet and delightfully spiced Pumpkin filling. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSized at about six inches in diameter, each Pie can be easily split as a sweet treat for two, or makes a filling single-serving dessert for one. Its stature also makes it especially suited for bringing along to holiday dinners and potlucks, particularly when there are folks who don’t eat gluten on the guest list (though we find that it’s a hit among those who do eat gluten, too!).
